At Merriweather, coffee is our craft and our passion. And our coffee goes amazingly well with our delicious and healthy Australian inspired breakfast and lunch menu.

Merriweather Coffee + Kitchen is now open! It is located in the historic West Village, New York City in a landmark building. Our space is bright, modern and welcoming, inspired by the trendy beach cafés of Sydney. We will balance our high-quality and thoughtful food and beverage program with that quintessential laid-back and unpretentious Australian café experience.

The name Merriweather is inspired by the Australian beach that is also the hometown of Pete, our founder.

Each morning, Merewether Beach is filled with surfers, swimmers and joggers of all ages enjoying nature before their day at work starts. As part of their ritual, they go to their local café to grab a delicious cup of coffee and something healthy and tasty to eat, crafted by someone who cares.

Here in NYC, our highly-trained, talented and passionate baristas sample coffees and carefully adjust the brewing parameters. Every customer who walks through our doors gets the most delicious cup, however they like it served.

We know that the 5 minutes you take to enjoy your favorite beverage each day are sacred, and we love to exceed your expectations, every day of the week.

At Merriweather, we love the healthy and tasty food of the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean.  Australian café culture boldly mixes the best of these cuisines into innovative breakfasts and lunches. Our menu is built around key ingredients, including harissa and za'atar from the Middle East, cilantro and fish sauce from Southeast Asia, and feta and hummus from the Mediterranean.

We proudly partner with Counter Culture to roast our coffee.

Our fresh pastries come straight out of the ovens at Bien Cuit. and breads from Balthazar Bakery.

Chalait sources us with matcha from the rolling hills of Uji, which is Japan's oldest and most celebrated tea growing region.

Everyone loves a freshly pressed juice and we have Summers to thank for ours.

Our beautiful logo was hand drawn by our very talented and dear friend, Astrid Riemer.

Merriweather would love to hear from you!

We are always looking for ways to improve and to grow our team. Send us a note and we'll be in touch ASAP! Thank you!
